Privacy Policy

WeruLux (“we”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it — across both our website (werulux.com) and the WeruLux mobile application.

Who we are

WeruLux is a travel-wellness company established in Japan, based in Kamakura, Kanagawa. For any privacy question or request, contact us at contact@werulux.com.

1. The website (werulux.com)

Contact form. When you submit our contact form, we receive the information you provide: your name, organization, email address, inquiry type, and message. We use it solely to respond to your inquiry and conduct the discussions you request. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.

Waitlist. If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address to send you launch and early-access news. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

Hosting logs. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). Like most web hosts, GitHub may log technical data such as IP addresses for security and operational purposes.

Theme preference. Switching light/dark mode stores that preference in your browser’s local storage, on your device only. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not run third-party tracking scripts.

2. The mobile application

Account data. Creating an account requires your name, email address, and a password. Passwords are stored only in securely hashed form on our servers — we cannot read them.

Self-reported wellness data. To build your personal jet lag plan, the app asks you about your sleep habits (usual bedtime and wake time, chronotype, recent poor-sleep nights), your energy, concentration, and mood, caffeine and sleep-aid use, and post-flight symptoms such as fatigue, digestive discomfort, or headaches. This is health-related information, and we treat it with corresponding care: your raw answers are stored on your device, not on our servers. You provide this information voluntarily by completing the questionnaires; every question can simply be left unanswered by not using the feature.

Trip details. Flight itineraries you enter (cities, dates, duration, time zones) are stored on your device. City lookup happens inside the app — no lookup service receives your searches.

What reaches our servers. When the app computes your analysis, it sends only derived numeric wellness indicators (for example a sleep score or fatigue index) together with your account identity to WeruLux’s own servers (api.werulux.com), which return your recovery plan and store the resulting scores so you can see your history. Your raw questionnaire answers, symptoms, and itineraries are not transmitted.

What the app does not do. The current app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind, and no data is shared with or sold to third parties. It does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, health platforms (Apple Health / Google Fit), or any wearable or EEG device. If future versions add optional sensor integrations, they will be introduced with explicit in-app consent and this policy will be updated first.

On-device storage and deletion. Your trips and answers live in the app’s local storage on your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes them. To delete your server-side account and analysis history, email contact@werulux.com and we will remove them within a reasonable period.

3. Service providers

We use a small number of processors, each receiving only what its function requires: Formspree, Inc. (United States) delivers website contact-form submissions to our inbox; our email service provider manages waitlist subscriptions; GitHub, Inc. hosts the website. Application data goes only to servers operated for WeruLux.

4. Retention

Inquiry correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, then deleted. Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Application account data and analysis history are kept while your account is active, and deleted on request.

5. Security

Passwords are hashed, application traffic to our production servers uses HTTPS, and access to stored data is limited to what operating the service requires. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we design for data minimization first: the most sensitive information — your raw wellness answers — never leaves your device.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR — you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Email contact@werulux.com and we will respond within a reasonable period.

7. Changes to this policy

When our products change — for example, when new app features are introduced — we update this page first and revise the “last updated” date above.
